A belated catch up

a zoomed in bush flower
So much has happened in the last month that I have had very little time to come here :-(

The weather here in the UK has been absolutely appalling, rain after rain after rain topped with cool temperatures certainly did not make for a great start to summer 2012. I have 2 dogs, which I love to walk & they love being out in all weather, so I have all the appropriate clothing you can imagine, but even I was getting fed up of donning waterproofs, braving the elements & then spending equally as long drying the dogs off as I had walked them (well, almost!)

I was lucky enough to snap this picture on the first day of my sons weekly paper round, I even emailed it to our local paper & they asked if they could use it as Photo of the Week (waaaa - heeeeeyyy!), which I was obviously thrilled about :-D

I also have taken part in a little challenge, which I will reveal at the end of the month :-)

And now that the summer holidays have begun here, we are being blessed with the most gorgeous week of weather, which we have tried to enjoy as best we can, but that's another post in itself. So i will leave you with one last pic of the lovely sunshine visiting us this week :-)

Enjoy the weather & summer hols if you're in the UK, & if you are elsewhere then I hope you're having a lovely time.

Returning After A Long Break..........

It has been a long, long time since I visited my Blog & made any effort to make an entry, but on recently reading other blog's I got an urge to re-attempt (3rd time lucky!) to record my life.

Although I have made this return this evening, I am just testing tonight to see if I remember how to post pics, etc., then I look forward to continuing this venture with more regular visits.

The picture is me trying out taking close up's on my iPhone4, which has been dropped several times & I'm not convinced it gives good quality images anymore (thankfully contract due for renewal in Oct).

Glad my test post seems to be going well, more to come :-)

Easter Greetings

I've used this image before, but it stills makes me giggle :)

We've had this week off and we've one more week to go and it's been very relaxing.  Scott & Alec have played out a lot in the warm sun we've had, they've had many water pistol fights & other fun games with children in our close.  Sadly today the weather is wet so they've spent the day indoors and we did manage a small trip to our local theatre to see a WWII exhibition from our local area.

I have had a very lazy first week, catching up with sleep, sleep & more sleep, a bit of washing, ironing & socializing too.  Oh, almost forgot, we also had a short trip to town & I now have a new mobile phone, so have also been spending time getting used to it.

Tomorrow the boys are off to Scotland with their dad for a week and I am traveling upto Wales for 5 days.  It will be the first 'special' holiday that I will be without the boys, it will be strange but as I'll be away too then hopefully it won't feel too strange.

Hope everyone has a happy & wonderful, chocolate filled Easter - I know we all will :-)

Saturday Strangeness

Well, not the start to the day I was hoping for, but as there are no major plans for the weekend I'm ok with that.

We had an exhausting week finished by Scott performing in a school dancetime event at our local theatre.  They were the last group to go on & they were absolutely fantastic, obviously I'm biased but they were very well choreographed (Thank You Miss Wright x).  This is part of the reason to our lazy start today.

I woke up a little bothered by some people and the way some people interact, not quite understanding why it's always necessary to put people down.  Do these people feel better for trying to blow their own trumpet? are they desperate to seek approval from peers? do they honestly believe they are better than the next person? - who knows, but I find it all a bit unecessary.  Anyway, I tried to phone a few friends to chat about my thoughts but as most sensible people today, they were probably out enjoying the great spring weather we're having.

However, my friend Helen in Edinburgh called & these concerns are now fading from my thoughts, not because I bothered her with them, but because we had a lovely chat about other nicer things & I feel ok again.  In fact ok enough to now go tackle the garden which hasn't seen any TLC since ooh, about August or September.  Shame on me I know but the weather has been awful until this last week & I have been very busy.

So much for new beginnings!!!!

Oops! hadn't realised it was so long since I last came here & so much has gone by!

Back in January my cat Pringle died at 14 and a half, due to a sudden heart attack, so not a great start to 2009!

In February my eldest son had a minor bout of shingles!!!! (shingles at age 11!!!! - not unheard of apparently) which thankfully passed with very little incidence.  This month also saw my youngest becoming age 9 & having a thoroughly brilliant birthday during half term.

So what will March bring ??? - well so far it's looking good.  We re-homed an 8 and a half year old cat, named Felix, from a friend of a friend who is returning to Australia.  My eldest has a place at the secondary school we were keen on for this September, I have re-ignited a passion for crochet & am loving making granny squares & hexagons (more on this to follow) & to top all that my mortgage has come down yet again - whoopeeeee!!!!!

Hope to stay more up to date as of now, God bless all

Starting Again

Hello, welcome to my blog & my ramblings.

I started one of these a few years back, didn't enter much & then got caught up in life to really make any use of it - so here goes attempt no. 2!

Am hoping this time round I'll make more use of this & that I can record my existence for prosperity, etc, etc. - being 1st of the month always a good impetus to start something!

LOL! Have nothing of great interest to record other than am deliberating over my immediate future - next best step re career & financial advancement - Teacher or Art Thearpist??? I'm currently a Teaching Assistant, single parent to 2 fantastic sons, Scott & Alec, & wanting to ensure a secure stable future for us. Either careers would provide that, I'm just not sure which one to pursue - aarrgghh!

Oh well!, watch this space to see what happens ;)
